One downside of running agent canvas on your local machine is that when the machine goes down you need to run home to debug it 😅 (me now)

Which machine do you use?

My AMD Strix Halo box

ssh -R
l
Doesnt work if your ssh port is down 😄
b
with -R you open the port on the remote server (in the cloud)
put there a reverse proxy with HTTP Basic Auth
I've been working 100% local since Nov 2025
Strix Halo with qwen-3.6-27b-MTP
I cannot be more happy 🙂

Awesome! I still don't understand how it solves the problem when your local machine crashes though?
b
if your machine crashed and you don't have local access, you need kids to press the power button 🙂
aren't you running Linux?
My strix halo is running 24/7
I just had problems before when recovering from suspension
l
Yeah in this case there was nobody at home to press the power button so I had to do it, hence my original post 😅
b
ok
well, it could also happen with your housing in the datacenter
but there you mostly have remote hands
l
Yeah, in data centers they have remote tooling around rebooting dead machines though. By the way this is not a big issue it's just a little thing, it was more of a joke than anything 😄
