I think that repo is old now, but I understand Windows might work better than it used to cc @gentle-apple-32922

Hey @silly-address-75551, yes I think you can run our new agent-canvas on windows and it should just work, although the software is still in beta: https://github.com/OpenHands/agent-canvas

I run openhands flawless with LM studio combined with Docker Desktop, and Openhands CLI in WSL/Ubuntu, docker is just the basic commands, WSL/Ubuntu is literally type ubuntu and install it, then do two commands to install the CLI client, only thing which was giving me a bit of research was finding the correct endpoint for my LM host but a bit of trial and error with Claude got it up and running within 5 minutes.

@silly-address-75551 Graham is correct that agent-canvas works on Windows though it is a beta. I am currently working through the bugs around the skills/extensions/automations. But agent-canvas itself does work well on Windows verified by me a Windows user.

@fresh-lifeguard-34444 our previous tools did require WSL and Ubuntu. But honestly it is not a great experience in the long run. WSL accesses files differently than if you weren't using it. It's slower. And also the expected behaviors with the browser, networking, etc. do not work well on WSL. I attempted to get oauth without success and also the local Figma mcp server did not work either. Agent Canvas is a better experience out of the box for Windows. And it's my goal that the Windows experience has parity with Mac and Linux.

@gentle-apple-32922 I know Linux would be better, but I need a dual boot then, which is planned, I do also a lot of digital art generation and a lot runs much faster on linux, the only problem is that I have some must have tooling where linux is not an option, IE Visual Studio (no not the code version). However I want to wait till I have a new Harddisk because my current 1 TB is at the low end and I am constantly deleting models to keep space 😉

@fresh-lifeguard-34444 thank you for sharing I would say if you like WSL then go ahead 👍 we just want to make sure windows is as easy to use. its not great to jump through hoops and have exceptions 🥲 if you'd ever like to demo on a community call what you're building please let me know, Sjors 👍
