Hello everyone, would love to know of any issues that I could work on and contribute
c
Hey, welcome around! You're always welcome to solve issues you encounter while using openhands. These days most of the focus goes to agent-canvas, a new UI for openhands, have you tried it? It’s in RC stage
i
Welcome!
l
Yes, @important-accountant-66158 we’d be happy to have you try out the agent canvas and open/fix any issues you encounter: https://github.com/OpenHands/agent-canvas
i
Thanks for the welcome! I'll check out Agent Canvas and start exploring the repo. If there are any specific issues that need attention, feel free to assign or point me toward them as well. I'd be happy to contribute
c
How are you using OpenHands today? The fun thing is that really we’re in the middle of some significant changes with agent-canvas and agent-server and such 😅
i
At the moment, I'm mainly exploring OpenHands and getting familiar with the codebase and workflows. Agent Canvas looks really interesting, especially with all the ongoing changes. I'd love to help improve it. If there are any issues or tasks that would be a good fit for a new contributor, I'd be happy to work on them and contribute wherever I can
c
Sorry, do I understand correctly, you don’t currently use OpenHands for your needs? I bet the best are those you find through use. 😅
i
ya i'll use it and share my experience

i
hey can i have a look for this issue https://github.com/OpenHands/OpenHands/issues/14633 ??

Hey @important-accountant-66158, I’d suggest that you try to fix something that you encounter yourself before choosing existing issues. The reason why I suggest this is because it will help you form an understanding of how the software works and how the codebase is structured. That issue will be tricky for you to handle because it’s in the enterprise codebase, and not in code that you would be using yourself when you run openhands locally

We will be restructuring our Repos soon so that it is clearer what is OSS , what is enterprise, so that good-first-issues, etc. will be easier to locally develop and test.

Thanks for the clarification! My interest in that issue was mainly because it seemed closely aligned with the areas I'm currently trying to learn more about. I thought working through it would help me develop a deeper understanding of the architecture and how different parts of OpenHands interact with each other
