@nutritious-balloon-65098 can there be a team in an org where anyone in that team has triage abilities to label issues in any of the repos under the org?

I'm on it! Jamie can track my progress here.
Yes — GitHub supports exactly this. Here's how it works: GitHub Org Team with Triage Access The "Triage" Role GitHub has a built-in Triage permission level for teams, which allows members to: • Label issues and pull requests • Close, reopen, and assign issues/PRs • Request reviews • Mark issues as duplicates • Cannot push code or merge PRs How to Set It Up 1. Create (or use) a team in the org (e.g.,
triage-team
) 2. Add the team to repositories with Triage permission: ◦ Go to the repo → Settings → Collaborators and teams → Add a team ◦ Set the role to Triage ◦ Repeat per repo, or use the GitHub API/CLI to bulk-add the team across all repos Applying to All Repos at Once There's no single "grant triage to all repos" button in the UI, but you can: • Via API/CLI — iterate over all org repos and add the team with triage role:gh api --method PUT /orgs/ORG/teams/TEAM_SLUG/repos/ORG/REPO \ -f permission=triageLoop this over all repos. • Org base permissions — Note: Org-level base permissions (under Settings → Member privileges) don't include Triage (only None/Read/Write/Admin), so this must be done at the team level. Caveats • The team only gets Triage on repos they're explicitly added to — new repos created later won't automatically inherit it unless you re-run the assignment or use a script/action to do so on repo creation. • If you want it to be truly automatic for future repos, you'd need a GitHub Action or webhook that fires on
repository.created
and adds the team. So short answer: Yes, fully supported — create a triage team, add it to all repos with Triage permission, and everyone on that team can label issues across the org.

Not fully automated, that's garbage
