Can we remove the Library section in MCP? Or maybe a better first question is has anyone gotten these to work? None have for me and the documentation links mostly if not all 404 links.
c
@bland-bear-604 can you investigate this, why are they 404 links? Check MCP docs for a few of those in the screenshot, and see the agent-canvas code; do they work without auth or what is the problem? What does clicking on one of them do, and what should it do?

this should be really easy to get right without too much effort or testing 😕 I don't know why it's been so hard

I just retested Github, Tavily, and Linear and ran into a errors with all three. Github and Tavily both couldn't authenticate so the agent used something else or just failed. Linear worked even with the error. I'm not sure the root cause but something isn't quite right with the implementation 😕
Maybe we cut the full library down to those top 4 + Notion and any other must-have for easier MCP onboarding and focus on getting them in without any issues

Investigated the 404s. Root cause: The
modelcontextprotocol/servers
monorepo was restructured. Most servers were split out into their own repos or removed. The
src/
directory now only has: git, fetch, filesystem, memory, sequentialthinking, time, everything. All other
src/<name>
paths are gone. 11 monorepo doc links are now 404: github, slack, gitlab, brave-search, puppeteer, google-maps, postgres, redis, sqlite, everart, aws-kb-retrieval-server 4 other doc links are also 404: • huggingface.co/docs/hub/en/mcp • docs.devin.ai/reference/deepwiki-mcp • github.com/EvilFreelancer/mattermost-mcp-server (repo gone) • help.kagi.com/kagi/api/mcp.html The npm packages still work —
npx @modelcontextprotocol/server-github
etc. still install fine. It is purely the doc links that are stale. Some servers moved to dedicated repos (e.g. GitHub MCP is now at
github/github-mcp-server
). The fix is updating all
docsUrl
values in
mcp-marketplace.tsx
to point at the new locations. Separately, the auth failures with GitHub/Tavily/Linear that were mentioned — that is a different issue from the doc links. The install flow itself may need debugging. 🐾

Opened a PR for this: #608 — fixes the broken doc links, removes the dead entries (Mattermost, EverArt, AWS KB). 🐾

Yeah our plan was to ship with JUST GitHub and Slack on day 1
which I think is reasonable until we figure this out
