I'm porting the model switcher to the canvas. In the main app, the model name sits next to the title (

img 1st). In the canvas, it's a button next to the tools.(

img 2end) I'm using that button for LLM profiles, but since I'm showing the profile name, we lose the specific model/proxy info. We show the model name because we can have two different profiles with same provider and same model but different settings. (

img 3rd) Should we: • Follow the existing OpenHands layout? • Design a new way to display both the profile and model info in the canvas? Thoughts? cc @elegant-branch-54423 @hundreds-twilight-32833 @breezy-kilobyte-39430

Couple of ideas: • Yes, replace the model name with the profile name like in image 3 that shows the switcher • In the switcher can we do: ProfileName llm-longname... • Alt text on the profile name in the switcher so when I hover over the profile name in the chat switcher I see the longer specific model name We could then separately try and show the llm-longname at all times if needed whenever the profile is switched

This seems OK to me. The user will name the profile as they wish, to understand what they are.

Just for fun FWIW, in a fully local environment, my agent knows its own profiles store and I can also ask it, "hey on what proxy is your active profile"? 😅

You will be able to ask your agent which profile it is using and tell it to switch to another one.
