which tutorial should I use to introduce a friend to OpenHands? I'm looking for the latest beginner’s guide for someone who has never used OpenHands but is a heavy user of Codex or Claude Code.

If they’re familiar with those other tools, maybe they just need to follow the CLI installation instructions? https://docs.openhands.dev/openhands/usage/cli/installation

@nutritious-balloon-65098 is BrowserTool on by default in the OpenHands/OpenHands-CLI? Is there a way to turn it on if not?

I'm on it! Graham Neubig can track my progress here.
## Summary: BrowserTool in OpenHands CLI Question: Is BrowserTool on by default in OpenHands/OpenHands-CLI? Is there a way to turn it on if not? Answer: No, BrowserTool is NOT enabled by default in the OpenHands CLI. The CLI explicitly disables browser tools in `openhands_cli/conversations/store/local.py`:
Copy code
python
register_default_tools(enable_browser=False)
While the SDK's
register_default_tools()
function defaults to
enable_browser=True
, the CLI overrides this to
False
because browser tools require additional dependencies that may not work in all CLI environments (headless servers, CI pipelines, etc.). There is currently no CLI flag or configuration option to enable browser tools. ### Alternative Ways to Get Web Capabilities: 1. MCP Servers - Add fetch or Tavily MCP servers for web content retrieval:
Copy code
bash
   openhands mcp add fetch --transport stdio uvx -- mcp-server-fetch
2. OpenHands GUI Server (
openhands serve
) - The full web GUI with sandboxed environments 3. OpenHands Cloud (
openhands cloud
) - Cloud sandboxes have more complete environments If you need full browser automation in the CLI, it would require a code change or feature request to the OpenHands CLI repository. --- No code changes were made during this investigation - this was a documentation/codebase research task only.
