In my case, my workstation runs on windows and the server on ubuntu. I already setup the passwordless ssh connection between client and server but I was missing the proper pvsc setup

your guide works just fine, I only changed the SSH Executable with the windows path to ssh.exe

@otaolafr, do you have some resources explaining how to define the options in the pvsc file? You are using a String and File to define Username and SSH executable, but I have other ideas and I would like to know what are the other possibilities

i used the documentation (what mathieu send me to in the post forum) and with a lit bit of trial and error and a morning spend on that i made it work... i dont know what you mean by different

thanks, I found what I was looking for in the documentation. I was looking for "Enumeration" to make a list of hosts in the options

this pvsc file is pretty neat!

Did you guys ever played with bivariates representations in ParaView? https://www.kitware.com/bivariate-representations-in-paraview/

@François Mazen (Kitware) , I'm very tempted to ask some questions! 😃 I've seen the plugin has been updated in ParaView 6.0 RC, but if I'm not mistaken there is still no way to manually edit the colormap? (eg. to adjust the colormap bounds)

Indeed at the moment you can adjust the first data bound only with the classic "Rescale to xxx" button.

As a workaround you may use the calculator before to restrict the range of the second data. Not ideal with large data of course.

But adding these feature would definitely make sense

Alright, this is already a nice update compared to previous version (this and the axes/legend)

How would you recommend to restrict the data range?
  • f

    François Mazen (Kitware)

ah, I was expecting a clamp or clip method in the calculator but no. Alternatively you can use the min/max trick like
    max(100, min(200, RTData))
to clamp RTData between 100 and 200.

Can someone help me? I want to have a chart like the one above in paraview but can't export it to the same path, what should I do? https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/616621476853841930/1401795259167539300/Screenshot_2025-08-04-12-12-58-113_com.google.android.apps.docs-edit.jpg?ex=68919311&is=68904191&hm=161eac31d140245e0106823ab5a0aab00df445cef84984d00329f54060779f96&

You're contouring values at e+25, I have to imagine that's going to lead to all sorts of precision errors.....

I'm not sure what your ratio is, but it seems like you might be dividing by zero....

You're increasing your density by a factor of 10^25?

    seems unlikely

so tl;dr - your simulation has diverged, or you're calculating your ratio wrong, which is probably why you're unable to make clean contours
