Help bring Bioconductor analysis methods into Nextflow and nf-core workflows! I am organising a hybrid event on Thursday 4 February 2027, bringing together contributors from different bioinformatics communities to explore BiocJobs – a method that automatically generates Nextflow modules, Galaxy tools, WDL tasks, and more from R scripts and some metadata stored directly in the Bioconductor packages themselves. The goal is to work together on making more Bioconductor analysis methods available across workflow ecosystems. For Nextflow and nf-core contributors, this is an opportunity to help test and improve the generated modules, explore how they could fit into existing pipelines, and provide feedback on their compatibility with nf-core conventions and best practices. You don't need to be an R or Bioconductor expert to contribute! Experience developing and using Nextflow workflows is equally valuable. Before opening formal registration, I'm collecting expressions of interest to help estimate participation and plan an event that works well for both in-person (Oxford, UK) and remote contributors. If you're interested in taking part, please complete this Expression of Interest form as soon as possible. There's no commitment at this stage! My own work with BiocJobs focuses on single-cell analysis (example Nextflow modules), but the approach has also been demonstrated with DESeq2 (example). I'd love to see contributors explore other analysis domains, identify useful Bioconductor methods that could benefit nf-core pipelines, and help put the approach to the test! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me here on Slack or by email at kevin.rue-albrecht@imm.ox.ac.uk. You are also welcome to join the Bioconductor chat at chat.bioconductor.org and ask questions on the channel #biofair2027-biocjobs-sprint expression-of-interest> .
