Hi, I am wondering if you have a matrix of compatibility, with the minimum and maximum supported version of nextflow in sequera platform. I found this: docs.seqera.io/platform-enterprise/functionality_matrix/overview but it only has the defaults, and a message about possible incompatibilities. Thanks 🙂

To use a different Nextflow version in your pipeline runs, add a pre-run script during launch.
This is outdated - the latest release now has a version picker for Nextflow in the UI. I'll try to get it fixed.
We have tried to do compatibility matrices in the past but it's incredibly difficult to do accurately 😓 There are many things that interact: Nextflow, the Seqera plugin for Nextflow, Fusion, Platform itself, and so on. The table quickly gets huge and difficult to use / even more difficult to keep up to date.
Then there are multiple features - eg. old versions of Nextflow should work, but my not support Nextflow Lineage features, or Global Cache, etc..
So it's rarely a black and white question of "works" / "doesn't work"
Generally speaking, the best advice usually comes back to "try it and see"
Unless you're using truly ancient versions of Nextflow then most of the time stuff works, in my very unscientific and non-specific experience 😅

What would be considers "Trully ancient"? The use case that we are trying to tackle is to have the exact same workflow executed across samples that come over time. Ideally, all the versions of the software should be the same. So having an idea of how back we could expect some level of support would be really helpful. In our organisation, the update of the Sequera Platform and the workflows is done independently, and we have got into unexpected failures (though, it should also be part of the upgrade validation, but we don't have full control or say on this).
Anyway, thanks for the answer, we were initially wondering if this information was available 🙂

I've asked our support team to reach out to you about this, as it's getting a bit too into the weeds for my flippant "it's difficult" response 😅 Rashmi should be able to give you a more useful response 🙏🏻
