nextflow Fancy writing pipelines at the home of Nextflow? nextflow Seqera has an opening in our growing professional services team: seqera.io/careers/… 👋 Join me, @Jonathan Manning, @Rike Hanssen and @Luisa Santus in our bioinformatics-for-hire squad. You'll be writing, integrating and extending pipelines for Seqera customers around the world, solving some of the biggest problems in bioinformatics. 🚀 You'll also get to feed customer use cases and stories directly into product development and help shape the future of open science. 🌍 The role is remote, with an office in Barcelona 🇪🇸 where a number of the company are based. We're looking for someone in an EU time zone to match the rest of the team. If in doubt, apply! 🛠️ You'll need a strong background in Nextflow and bioinformatics (obviously), experience of software development in complex environments, and a history of using the cloud. Most of all, we're looking for evidence of your work, so make sure you include a good example code repository in your application. 🎁 Other perks include: • 🤺 Arguing with @Ben Sherman about syntax • 🎯 Nerd sniping @Phil Ewels • 📣 Heckling @hpatel 💬 If anyone needs more info, feel free to shoot me a message.

Does this include some nf-core development?

Good question! Not directly, our work is led by what customers need. Using an nf-core pipeline out of the box is tricky for most orgs but we encourage people to use nf-core practices and contribute modules and subworkflows to the community when possible. I'm hoping pipeline composition should make it easier to bolt on special sauce to an existing nf-core pipeline.

I am looking forward to much more pipeline composition

Be we need to redefine what a pipeline is for nf-core

Man this looks like an amazing opportunity for someone with my background (Full disclosure: I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. And, there have been some recent discussions about Canada enjoying some new status inside the EU, but time zones will still be 5 or 6 hours apart). Also: I sat in on the Seqera/Nextflow Summit in Barcelona this week because I am "nextflow-curious". I spent the last five years working (remotely) at the UCSC Genomics Institute running WDL pipelines on terra.bio (Pathogen Genomics).
