What’s the current suggested method to test the versions output of a subworkflow which only uses processes with

versions (thus no emitted versions channel)

We don‘t test for version outputs in subworkflows anymore. Only in modules and then handle them in pipelines.

Hmm. I’m trying to test local subworkflows, and I want versions because I can’t/don’t run the module tests for nf-core modules in my pipeline repo, but I want to have a sense-check that my versions are reporting correctly. So I guess really the question is, how do we test topic versions?

That works? I wouldn’t have expected topics channels to be in a workflows output like that
