Sounds good to me. EPA-NG is used by my pipeline and, as I mention above, I added raxtax as a prefiltering step. For my use-case -- GTDB bacteria in particular -- the set of sequences is still enormous, so I'm thinking of clustering sequences at some point before placement. I'm ready for a meeting any time.
