Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) – “Artificial Intelligence in Genomics”
• Location: Center for Human Genetics and Genomic Medicine
• Working Hours: 100% full-time standard working hours (currently 38.5 hours/week)
• Contract Duration: Initially 3 years under the Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG); extension intended
• Start Date: As soon as possible
• Salary Grade: EG 13 (TV-L)
Project Overview
The goal of this project is to develop robust data analysis pipelines for processing multimodal health data. The focus lies on implementing the following key aspects:
• Multimodal Learning Approaches: Developing AI models to integrate/fuse diverse data types (genetic signatures, clinical profiles) to identify precise diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers.
• Cohort Analyses: Conducting statistically sound analyses of large patient cohorts to gain insights into risk factors and therapeutic approaches.
• Data Engineering: Further developing and optimizing the existing data architecture and improving data exchange across different research groups.
Large genomic and clinical datasets will be utilized to:
• Efficiently classify genetic variants
• Identify disease-associated patterns
• Improve the interpretation of sequence data (e.g., NGS)
• Develop predictive models for genetic diseases
• Identify biomarkers with therapeutic or prognostic relevance
Work will be conducted in close collaboration with clinical and molecular genetics research teams, contributing directly to the advancement of personalized medicine.
