Hi folks, not sure who to pull into this but I assume this group would have opinions: we had a user run into this (docker API related issue I had previously run into) which seems like it should get fixed at the nf-core level? https://github.com/nf-core/modules/issues/9801
docker 1

│ Command error: │
│ docker: Error response from daemon: client version 1.52 is too new. Maximum supported API version is 1.43
That's a new one

we can downgrade the version in the devcontainer maybe @Julian Flesch who was working on this wants to jump in 🙂

I'll have a look later today 🙂

This is the nextflow-io/training repo I think, not the nf-core/tools devcontainer
I don't really understand where the error is coming from though
j
ah I thought it happened in the modules repo devcontainer, sorry

No you're right sorry!
Apparently I am terrible at actually reading
Just came from the training repo, not about the training repo

In essence: The daemon (run by Github on their servers) is too old. There is a fix by setting the api version manually to the latest one supported by their daemon (1.43)
DOCKER_API_VERSION=1.43
Described here: https://docs.docker.com/reference/api/engine/
Now, I'm a bit reluctant to set to this version by default in our "base devcontainer" over at nf-core/tools, given that this version is deprecated:
API versions before v1.44 are deprecated. You can find archived documentation for deprecated versions of the API in the code repository on GitHub

Are there any GitHub codespaces issues etc about this? Seems like a kind of major issue?
