That was a quick poc I did to check how one could add GPU metrics to the trace file. The Nextflow team is ultimately going for a more robust approach. If you wanted to get GPU metrics right now, you could probably write some groovy function that doesn't involve the trace file (because the trace is only accessible from core Nextflow, not plugins or functions I believe).

What kind of metrics are you interested in @Fred Jaya ? %age utilisation?

Yes mainly peak % utilisation. Admittedly I am new to using GPUs, but we run all of our pipelines on HPC and need a way to check if we're asking for too much/not enough
