# drop

<!here> anyone volunteering here to help out @Nicolas Vannieuwkerke to present the drop pipeline, he can cover the nextflow/nf-core part, but someone with a deeper understanding of the logic would be nice

I can present/be there from our side. When are you planning to do it? I can also ask the authors if they want to be involved or not.
m
The main idea is when you feel like it, we have #C01LNCGJBMH on Tuesdays at 1300 CEST I do believe all slots will be blocked until summer break, but I'm back mid August
a
Sounds good. I will ask around on our side and get back to you.

Somewhere at the end of August should work for me 🙂
a
Should we aim for August 25th? I will be on vacation first 4 Tuesdays of September
n
Sounds good to me!
a
Is the date fixed now?
m
If you feel good with august 25th, then it's a date
I'll create a PR soon, and you can review it

Hi @Nicolas Vannieuwkerke and @Maxime Garcia, we talk about the bytesize internally (DROP's developers) and we were wondering if two people from our side can present. Here is the schedule we thought of: 1. Nicolas to talk about technical, nextflow related topics 2. Vicente (DROP's author) to talk about motivation behind using DROP, why to use it, where to use it and how. 3. I will talk about examples of DROP usage from the past. Does this work for you? How long does the bytesizes usually take? I think 10minutes each for us should be good.
m
We usually have 15-20 min, but we don't really have a time limit. I do recommend trying to keep it short. I'd recommend around 25 max, but 30 is okish

How long do you think you would need @Nicolas Vannieuwkerke? We can adjust our parts based on that to aim for ~25 minutes.
n
I will probably not need much time as I will give a short recap of my experience migrating a snakemake pipeline to Nextflow. I think the main part of the bytesize should be about the pipeline itself 😛
I won't need more than 5 minutes most likely
