Hi, I'd like to push airrflow container to quay.io/nf-core for our new release but I need permission first. Could anyone authorize me?
p
No, it needs to be done by someone in the core team
This channel has preset forms to send messages. One of them is to request an image
Basically you push somewhere else and we pull + push for you
And you justify why it needs to be there
h
Our docker image is here: docker.io/immcantation/airrflow:5.1.0 Friederike reviewed our pull request for new release and suggested to "push this container to quay.io/nf-core" @Phil Ewels
p
This is what I mean about filling out the form, for next time..
@Rike Hanssen are you happy for a custom container here?
r
@Gisela Gabernet @Huimin Lyu any reason this can't be in bioconda?
g
Yes, it has been a >2y fight with conda-forge and bioconda and not solved yet. 2 R packages in the container were initially on conda-forge but had to be moved to bioconda due to biocontainer dependencies. Since the strict-channel thing was introduced, the older versions on conda-forge are always preferred and we cannot create a recipe with the new ones (there are inter-dependencies between these R packages). I have asked to archive the conda-forge recipe but there doesn't seem to be a process for that: https://github.com/conda-forge/r-alakazam-feedstock/issues/27. Formalized transfers from conda-forge to bioconda are not yet in place: https://github.com/conda-forge/cfep/pull/52

It's a bit frustrating TBH, it seems like a pretty common case they should be encountering. I'd be the happiest if we can push for this to be implemented, as I'd like to simply be able to create conda environments with these tools, which is at the moment not possible with their latest versions
r
ok sounds like a good enough reason for me to upload to quay.io for now then

@Chris Hakkaart tagging you in

Sorry, all - only noticed this now. I'll upload tomorrow.
h
Hi @Chris Hakkaart, is the airrflow docker image available at quay.io/nf-core now?
