Since the more widespread adoption of topic channels, we’re seeing this error pop up quite a bit.

Missing environment variable: nxf_out_eval_16
Which causes the whole pipeline to fail. Has anyone encountered this too? Seems to have smth to do with the 
eval
statements in the modules

Empty channels do not work great with topics and workflow outputs if I remember well. I don't think I opened an issue for this unfortunately. I quickly managed to identify which channel was causing that issue and killed it

I would remove al channels from workflow outputs and add them back one at a time
m
Update: This issue seems to be fixed (at least for us) by updating the 
bcftools
modules with the combined index output channel.

No idea what went wrong, but it’s gone now 😄 Must have had something to do with one of the index channels being empty
