Time for a bit of complaining from non-human studies (although part of this is generally relevant). It would be great to drop "patient" as a required field in the samplesheet, since it is only relevant for paired-sample studies. Same goes for "lane" in runs starting from FASTQ files. Additional argument beyond "it's annoying to add every time": making these fields optional (maybe with warning) would make the samplesheet from #C024915L4KB compatible with sarek.
