I assume we dropped <https://docs-archive--nf-core...
# documentation
c
We largely dropped tutorials or moved them to guides.
👍🏻 1
m
thought so. just wanted to be sure
c
Its probably high traffic enough we should try and include it again, it's just a big job to migrate it properly.
m
do you think we should add a redirect to the old docs for these pages in the mean time?
c
In this case yes, but I'm tempted to do a case by case review, as it's nice to see what pages are being flagged
m
sounds good
j
Yes, this parti ular one I pointed out that a lot of people used it (even thoguh we indeed want to avoid tutorials), so @Chris Hakkaart said he wanted to do a review of it and see if he can make a more streamlined one
But will take a bit of itme
c
Yeah, that's 100% on me - I underestimated the traffic on that guide. I'll try and sort a new set or partial set of guides by Monday.
t
fwiw, a couple of days ago DuckDuckGo linked me to a removed tutorials page. I guess their cache will eventually get updated, but it might well be that search engines redirect people to migrated/dead links for a little while.
j
Tutorials is one of the only things that has not been migrated so sort of expected
But yeah lets pile on Chris 😆
t
no piling on! Just wanted to give the insight of where people asking about 404s might have found the links from 🙈
c
Me again 👋 I've made a PR with the migrated tutorial and redirects. I tried to trim some of the tutorial's wording to keep it slick and in line with the style guide. The Boston Hackathon is in 9 days, so if anyone has a spare 20 min a speedy review would be 🚀 https://github.com/nf-core/website/pull/4155
j
Will look through again later, but started - left conceptual comment at beginning
(chapter 1 -. overview/index page instead?)
Big shout out to @James Fellows Yates for revising and sanity checking 🤩
j
And for @Chris Hakkaart for the bigger task of porting it over
