Hey Team I was wondering if Trimmomatic can be added to nf-core/sarek? Any thoughts? Thank you~~

Just curios, what is better/preferable with

Trimmomatic

than with

fastp

(which is definitely faster/more efficient)?

Just curios. Some folks in my team prefer it.

fastp

is also amazing.

We would gladly welcome you to #C05V9FRJYMV if you want to add it

the challenge with other trimming tools that are not fastp is that it requires a lot of additional implementation for the scatter/gather strategy. fastp is doing all these things in one pass whereas trimmomatic would require a second pass over the reads.
