I had a thought yesterday. It’s a minor addition, but I think it’d be useful: adding a check at the end of the pipeline to verify if the Nextflow plugins are up to date what do you think?

Arguably end of the pipeline run would be too late though? Maybe with a config option to stop pipeline running if they are out of date, and print the plugins in that case?

maybe a bit aggressive

Yeah, thus the config option

hahahah yep

😬
Because otherwise if I really cared about them not being out of date I would rather not run a 5 day analysis to find out they were wrong 😬

Will review lint (didnt use it before) Also I'm thinking the ckeck needs to be against the nextflow running version (maybe it isnt very util to know there is a new version of a plugin if I'm using an incompatible version of nextflow) Thanks for your comments
m
I am thinking about having it in the linting because this is more something relevant for a pipeline developer vs pipeline user

There is a
nextflow plugins
command group, so could also have dedicated commands for this
(and updating)
