If a sample fails at a certain task/process. Is there a way to just tell the pipeline to move on to the next sample? I know there's an error strategy to "ignore" and keep going. But is there a way to just say "move on to the next sample"

That's what nextflow does automatically if you just the ignore error strategy. Nextflow is implicitly asynchronously parallelised - so if you use that strategy, it will continue to execute the processes for the other samples

It does not do anything in 'order' per se
Unless I misunderstand what you mean?

Exactly, use
errorStrategy = 'ignore'
but keep in mind those failed tasks will be retried if you
-resume
. This is may be helpful, in particular Usman's response https://community.seqera.io/t/how-to-skip-specific-failed-samples-on-next-resume/2078
