# arm64

After promising it for months, I finally got around to drafting a blog post about our work here πŸ™‚ β€’ https://deploy-preview-3710--nf-core-main-site.netlify.app/blog/2026/arm-pipelines β€’ https://github.com/nf-core/website/pull/3710 Please take a look and review on github / drop comments here! πŸ™‚

Specifically @David Lecomber because I put you as a coauthor πŸ˜†

Thanks! Reads well to me - happy to be co-author attrib'd. As I am longer at Arm, I'd prefer to be clear that I'm not associated with them today - 'formerly of Arm' I guess (with 'and Arm' in there somewhere perhaps for their enabling the use of my time!). I'd rename my github account if it weren't so troublesome, but I guess I should've thought of a better account name 8 years ago!
it might be good to put a specific speed improvement to really encourage the arm VM on mac -- the best reference I've seen was this blog https://epi2me.nanoporetech.com/inkling/ (A 4 or 5x speed up if I'm speed reading that right)

Sounds good - amendments pushed

smashing, thanks!

In fairness, same applies to me; it should be formerly Seqera, and also acknowledge that they enabled me to dedicate time to this.
Also, I don't control that GitHub account anymore, feel free to review what's there and/or remove the link if you feel appropriate
p
Hi @Pablo Aledo ! Sure, can update. Is there a better link you'd prefer me to use?
Feel free to drop suggested changes on the blog post PR directly if you'd like πŸ‘πŸ» (probably easier)
p
πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I don't know. It is fine for me, I just thought you should know that account might not be accessible, but it is totally ok for me if you want to link it.

Hi, The blog looks great to me. Just two remarks if I may: β€’ Could you replace "ARM" with "Arm" please ? β€’ The link to David's blog about Sentieon does not have the right URL I think (page not found). This is probably the right one: https://developer.arm.com/community/arm-community-blogs/b/servers-and-cloud-computing-blog/posts/gencove-adopts-sentieon-and-aws-graviton

Hi @User - thanks for the feedback!
Is it always Arm and never ARM then? I think I tend to use the former for the company and the latter for the architecture. But I will change my ways..
Just pushed a fix, updates should be online in a few minutes

I would avoid "ARM" all in capital letters indeed. "Arm" is definitely the default and the way to refer to the company. Then "Arm64" can be used to refer to the architecture. And I think that for technical writing arm64 and aarch64 are also good options.

Ok good to know, thanks 🫑
<!subteam^S0A9Y5QN478> might be a nice candidate to add to the nf-core writing style guide?
