Hello, I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I have completed the seqera quizzes but haven't received the certificates. Is there someone I can email about it?
m
@Geraldine Van der Auwera or @Marcel Ribeiro-Dantas would be the folks responsible I think
p
It's not automated or anything, it's just these two cranking a big handle at some point to create all of the certificates and email them all.
I'm not sure if it's happened yet as it was only last week, and today is a holiday in the US

Plus I think we usually give people a few days grace to get the quiz in late before closing it.

Phil, you'd automate breathing to a script if you could, how have you resisted automating that part of the process?

All of the above, plus typeform is a bit painful to deal with so I process certificates in batches. I’m planning to move to a different system that will allow us to automate the whole thing, but that has taken a backseat to updating the course content, adding quizzes to more courses etc.
So basically give it a couple of days

@Simon Pearce don't tempt me please πŸ˜†

I'm sure it could be a Nextflow pipeline

Don’t encourage him πŸ˜†

> So basically give it a couple of days Is that before Phil automates it, or the certificates are given out πŸ˜‰

I have a feeling that @Marcel Ribeiro-Dantas or @Maxime Garcia already did exactly this in the past actually..? πŸ€”

We both have scripts
Mine is a nextflow pipeline
You just need a SVG template and strings to replace
I had a bash script for it as it's a simple sed to replace the strings from the SVG and then inkscape on the command line to convert to pdf
I actually used a similar set-up to generate fake plane tickets for my wedding so that people would know their table
I would just recommend to run the pipeline locally so that the fonts are ok

Mine too πŸ˜†
But it's not just issuing certificates. It's only for those passing the quiz, so a bit more complicated πŸ˜ƒ and we still have time for people to do the quizzes, so I wouldn't expect the certificates like now.
