Hello there, I am a first year phd student in leukemia research and single-cell analysis at the University Medical Center Heidelberg, most currently I am fighting with statistical inference despite strong batch effects and heterogenous samples, and of course scalability across different programming languages. I was just googling if nextflow/nf-core is something I want to use and landed here when I clicked on "memes". In short, I am trying to switch out my dear RMarkdown files for something more durable to use with large datasets and in several languages. Fortunately, we seem to be getting quite some infrastructure for our projects, and nextflow/nf-core is used by some collaborators. So I am looking forward to learning! If anyone has a pointer for using premade nf-core processes for processing single-cell multi-omics (or just a guide on how to include processes from github), I would be very grateful.

Hello everyone, I am Navyasree, a graduate in Information Science with a strong background in biological sciences. I am currently transitioning from biological sciences to computational biology, driven by a passion for using computational approaches to better understand biological systems and their diversity, with the goal of contributing to challenges in healthcare. I came across the nf-core community through a YouTube channel, and am really excited to learn, strengthen my skills, and build a strong foundation in biological data analysis. Looking forward to connecting with everyone, learning together, and growing as part of the nf-core community😊

Hi everyone! I’m Ryan, founder and principal data scientist at Informatic Edge (informaticedge.com). I’m a long-time Nextflow user and newer to consulting/contracting, and I’d love to start giving back to the nf-core community. I rely on Nextflow and nf-core pipelines regularly in client work, as well as in past bioinformatics roles. My background spans DevOps, HPC, bioinformatics, data science, and software engineering, and I also spent years at the bench as a microbiologist before moving into more computational work. Looking forward to connecting and finding ways to get involved!

Hi everyone, I’m a student bridging Oceanography and Software Engineering (42 Marseille). I'm building an open-source CLI (
    zesthpc
) to run scientific workflows on decentralized infrastructure (Akash Network) to lower cloud costs and DevOps friction. Since
    nf-core
is the standard, I want to support Nextflow seamlessly from the start. I would love to ask you two quick questions to avoid building the wrong thing: 1. What is your biggest infrastructure bottleneck right now? 2. What are the typical CPU/RAM requirements for your most frequent runs? The early repo is here if you want to take a look: gitlab.com/zestlab-group/zesthpc/zesthpc Thanks for your time and insights!

Hi everyone! πŸ‘‹ This is Hanzala, currently in my 3rd (and final!) year of my BSc in Biotechnology at the University of Debrecen, Hungary. I work in yeast genomicsβ€”started out in my first year in the wet lab doing everything from basic pipetting and DNA isolation to sequencing, and over the past year I dove deep into the dry-lab and workflow engineering side! I developed an automated Nextflow DSL2 WGS & phylogenomics pipeline for the Saccharomyces genus (
    saccharomyces-genomics-pipeline
), especially focused on messy interspecific hybrids like historic lager yeasts to place them in an evolutionary context. We're currently wrapping up our work and aiming to publish at least 2 peer-reviewed papers by the end of my Bachelor's! ✨✨ πŸ”— GitHub: https://github.com/hanzala-14/saccharomyces-genomics-pipeline πŸ“Œ Zenodo (v2.1.8): https://zenodo.org/records/23289452 I'm super passionate about my work and currently aiming for a direct/fast-track PhD in Bioinformatics & Computational Biology right after my Bachelor'sβ€”just diving into everything I can learn and build during my time here in Hungary! πŸ§¬πŸ’» πŸ‘ΎπŸ‘ΎπŸ‘Ύ Outside the lab and terminal, I play chess, Battlefield 1 πŸ”₯, and do black-ink sketching/art as well :)))) Excited to learn from you allβ€”peace out 🐒

Hi everyone, I’m Jessica, a PhD student in computational biology at WEHI / University of Melbourne. I’m keen to contribute to nf-core by building new modules and, over time, turning my work into nf-core pipelines. I recently helped get OpenMP working in the bioconda CoGAPS package (https://github.com/bioconda/bioconda-recipes/pull/70579), and I’ve just opened an issue to add a CoGAPS module: https://github.com/nf-core/modules/issues/13441. I’d love any pointers.
