Hello All, we created assembly items recently and checked the special work order item checkbox and noticed that even though the inventory is available for the location the qty is not committed, I believe the system is expecting for the work order to be built? Is there a way for the system to allocate available inventory , if not then wait for assembly built to happen? if my ask is not possible, what other options i have to fix my orders as I don't see option to uncheck the required work order on sales order level

Hey all, I am having a problem where I cannot use an assembly as a sub assembly on my BOM revision and I cannot figure out why. These are both Lot Numbered Assemblies with BOM revisions attached. I want to use ASSM1 as a SUB assembly of ASSM2 and when looking at the Components of Rev 1 of ASSM2 no assembly items are available. Any ideas? Edited for clarity

I know many people have feedback around the MRP features and NetSuite. Many NS customers end up using Oracle PBCS & Promethean Analytics as the gold standard. However, NetSuite MRP is orders of magnitude less expensive and works pretty great if you know what you are doing. Is anyone else either using the MRP module OOTB or curious how to implement it (Supply Planning Workbench/ Supply Allocation/ Manufacturing Task Scheduler)?

Anyone work closely with outsource mfg? I have a client that has multiple services being offered by multiple vendors before we reach the finished good. Native NetSuite seems to require 1 outsource mfg po per vendor, however, due to the requirement of having multiple steps, the traceability gets muddy really fast with multiple items and having to manually create outsource mfg pos on each step

Hello NetSuite professionals in Manufacturing! 🏭👋 Anyone interested in getting a holistic view of their operations in NetSuite? We have been working with a couple of manufacturing companies to build our MVP and are ready to open it to 2-3 more design partners. We can generate process flow graph for your use case(eg. Order-to-Cash, Lead-to-Cash, Plan-to-Produce, etc.) Our solution can identify unstable processes and what may cause it to be unstable. DM me if you are interested. This will be a complementary offering if you are selected.

Hey All, New to manufacturing, can you help me on this We recently moved production on some of our items to Canada. We just had a request come in to look into how we could pay our Canadian co-manufacturers in CAD rather than USD. We have a rather customized PO / Assembly Build process….but basically, we would need to be able to have a BOM / BOM Revision with mixed currency components. Specifically, the inventory items (packaging, materials) would be in USD, but the Other Charge item (the co-manufacturing fee) would be in CAD. I’ve played around in our Sandbox, but I’m having a hard time generating an Assembly Build that has a mixed currency GL Impact. I’m wondering if there is some advanced BOM / costing module that we need to enable this. Thank you

'Netsuite Defect. 281919 Assembly Build and Work Order does not respect line level Classifications for standard segments Department, Class, Location and custom segments alike" This has been "released?" but NetSuite does not really have release notes for these little fixes that I can find.

I have a potential client asking for help setting up MRP for their young company. I have never touched the MRP module before and have no experience with the module or manufacturing processes themselves. Should I offer to help for an hourly contract rate? And if so, how long do you think it would take to get it going? They're a new company but they're already looking to expand and engage the services of companies in other countries. My 12 years of NetSuite experience have been mostly my employers' NetSuite admin(s) figuring out what needs to be done, then having me build scripts and workflows where needed to fill in where NetSuite and its modules don't fully meet the requirements of their business processes. Those admins were always long time veterans in the company and the industry the company is in, and knew the company's business processes very well. I'm coming in cold. I'm trying to give them an estimate of how long it would take me to help them get MRP completely set up, and that's the knowledge gap I'm working with. They also want help with other things like integrations and reporting, so if I can't do the MRP part as quickly or effectively as they need then it's not necessarily a deal breaker.

Hello experts, kind of dumb question. I just watched a MRP training recording and wanted to confirm that is it absolutely impossible to have a fixed lead time of 3 days on work order when using WIP&RT. We have a customer uses MRP and WIP&RT. They want to setup a fixed lead time of 3 days for work order (the start and end time of the production is 3 days). While i use the work order fixed lead time field on item record to be able to give them a 3 day lead time on MRP for planned work orders, but as soon as the work order is released from MRP, it start using the routing time. Which makes sense 100%! but this customer wants a 3 day lead time period. is there any way to do it or absolutely no way to achieve with WIP&RT.
