I shared this in the general channel already, but I found this video series while looking for demos on NetSuite MRP products and thought it was worth sharing. If you’re paying for demand planning features but not utilizing them, then this video is a good place to start. 👍 https://videohub.oracle.com/media/Demand%20Planning%20%E2%80%93%20A%20Day%20in%20the%20Life/1_24ifzhlp

What is the difference between ‘Demand Source’ on the Item record vs ‘Projection Method’ on the Calculate Demand Plan page? It appears that they both have similar options (Orders and Forecast VS Sales Forecast. Moving Average, etc..)

Anyone noticed a difference in the planning repository refresh processes? As of the 19th our repository refresh starts a process per location instead of all locations at the same time. Eventually the MRP initialization process is also started per location and therefore conflicting each other resulting in an error telling that we can't have 2 processes running at the same time.

Starting on 9/13, Netsuite has been generating Planned Transfer Orders and Planned Work Order generated today with number #-1. When we try to open one of them, we get the error notice "Permission Violation: The restrictions on your role deny you access to this record.". I thought it was a permissions issue, but it happens even when I am login as Admin. • Do any of you know any reasons why the Planned TO's and WO's was generated as -1 ? We opened a case with NS Support on 9/13, but it's been a week and Netsuite Support has not done anything. We have not even heard from them since last Friday 9/16. I got our Sales Rep involved yesterday to escalate this, and so far nothing. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. I will appreciate any information you can shared.

When using distribution resource management, it creates one transfer order for each supply plan. So if I am ordering 30 items all using the same distribution network it generates 30 individual TOs. Is there a way around that?

Does anyone know why the lead time fields are greyed out on the Item Location Configuration after enabling ‘_Material Requirements Planning_’ on an Item Record? Did not encounter this behaviour in previous releases.

Has anyone ever created the Items to order reminder but edited it to show reminders per preferred vendor?

First surprise on 2023.1 that's not in the Release Notes... Educated guess is that it will be an individual order fixed size, not a multiplier.

Has anyone else found that the MRP grid view for an item where you can view the scheduled receipts by day/week/month gives wrong numbers? We find that PO lines seem to go missing in this view/tool

Hi all, anyone has experiencing with Food products (with expiration date) on Demand Planning? The use case that I’m trying to implement is, we do have on-hand stock to supply demand for next 6 months but this stock is going to expire in 4 months so I’m expecting Supply Planning understanding this “demand” (disposal) and suggest a Purchase/Work Order to cover last 2 months. Thanks in advance

Hey all, I just posted on a reddit thread, but I’m curious if folks have utilized the demand tool showcased here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nQjn3PSKEU▾

. Even after talking with our administrator and looking around, I have absolutely no idea where to find/access this. This appears to be a very easy to use spreadsheet style demand tool that is exactly what we want, but I can’t find any information on it!

Hello, We are trying to get a robust demand planning report built. We currently have a report that lists all Inventory Items and Assembly Items along with 3, 6, and 12 month consumption (including both quantity and value). The trouble we are having is that in real practice the building of Assembly Items affects the consumption of Inventory Items. But the inventory item consumption is not being affected by use on Assembly Items, only on sales. This is not only throwing off results on what we need to order, but also on identifying excess and obsolete inventory. example: Inventory Item 1234 is purchased and only ever used on Assembly Item ABC. When you review the consumption of Inventory item 1234 it is zero for 3, 6, and 12 months and it has a current on hand quantity of 3. This is indicating that we do not need to purchase any of the item and that it should be considered excess or obsolete. However, we know we are going to build 5 ABC Assembly Items, and this will require the use of 5 123 Inventory Items. Therefore, we are actually understocked by 2. Is there a report, or way to build a customized report that takes the fact that these items are used on assemblies into consideration? Thank you.

Is it possible to clear old exceptions from the Exceptions subtab in the Planning Workbench? We have hundreds of "Insufficient lead time for proposed Planned Purchase Order by 160 day(s)" that have existed since February and later that makes the Exception tab pretty much useless

I cannot get a Transfer Order to show up as demand in my MRP. Any clues to what I am missing? The item shows up in MRP and Sales Orders will provide demand, but I cant get the TO to.

Is Master Production Scheduling in the Planning Workbench just a filter or does it enable any additional functionality? I know it initially did nothing when the workbench rolled out a while back.+

Hi - I’ve got a MRP question - I found out in a planning rule group you can only have one path to a destination location. Any ideas on how to get MRP to help if i need to supply inventory from two source locations into one destination location? For example - I have a plant and a off site storage that holds finished goods that need to be moved to a distribution center. Right now, when I select the distribution in both lines in my rule group, i get an error saying “this record already exists”

Is there an existing mechanism for recording the timing of price changes in Netsuite? I see there is the Base Price column which is the active price, but if i wanted to record the price from this date to this date . is there a feature that supports this?

I have gone through my setup of demand planning a few times and when I try to calculate item demand plans I have no items to choose from after filling the required fields. I am new to the company but I know when sales orders and work orders get entered it's with the bare minimum, could that be affecting my list?

I know many people have feedback around the MRP features and NetSuite. Many NS customers end up using Oracle PBCS & Promethean Analytics as the gold standard. However, NetSuite MRP is orders of magnitude less expensive and works pretty great if you know what you are doing (and it is typically included in most NetSuite editions). We are going to be going through the supply planning workbench and customizations in depth next week. DM me if you want a link to the webinar.

I'm trying to get us fully onto NetSuite as we have been using like 3 systems forever because everyone is comfortable using them. So our method should be Sales Order Is quantity available? YES- fufill NO- Create WO If work order is created, release (packaging order) after release, "Formula Work Order" to make the material for the packaging order if we don't have on hand. The Formula work order is the longer process, takes 1-4 days to get ready for Packaging order that can be completed in 1-2 days I guess I'm just here to ask if anyone else is setup with similar timings and processes and how do you do planning on your end?

The Oracle Support Community is a great place to find demos and articles on the newest Supply Planning Enhancements in NetSuite. This video on Rescheduling & Cancelling orders using MRP is a great example: https://community.oracle.com/netsuite/english/discussion/4505117/watch-rescheduling-cancelling-orders-using-supply-planning-in-netsuite/p1?new=1
