I ended up installing livekit-client and going with @livekit/react-components.

@bulky-pizza-75657 the reason for that is that in newer versions

livekit-client

is treated as a peer dependency (instead of a direct dependency of livekit-react). So installing

livekit-client

was the right thing to do 🙂
