Hello everyone! I’m building AI agents with LiveKit. Everything worked fine until I combined Gemini + Azure Speech TTS. Now I’m getting error:

Invalid char '&' found in SSML. Please escape it before use.

Looks like Gemini is returning unescaped characters and Azure TTS expects valid SSML, so it fails. Has anyone run into this? Did you just sanitize/escape the text before sending to Azure, or is there a better way?

Hi, the best way to do this is to use the TTS node, https://docs.livekit.io/agents/logic/nodes/#tts_node. This example, https://github.com/livekit-examples/python-agents-examples/blob/main/docs/examples/tts_node_modifications/tts_node_modifications.py, should get you pretty close.
