Hi all are there any plans to introduce tasks and task groups to the agents nodejs sdk at some point in the future? Whats the recommended approach without them for things like getting consent. I got something working with agent handoffs, but the wiring is a bit harder to follow/maintain. So curious if this is something that would make its way to node.

You mean user consent to perform some action on behalf of them ?
If yes, then may be you can rpcs and transfer those to client side and proceed once the consent is provided once a user presses a button or something

We need to confirm with the client a few things, yes/no sort of questions before proceeding with the call. This is over the phone. Tasks seemed like a nice way to make these things blocking in the flow vs. just part of the general agent's instructions. For now i have a verification agent, that only hands off after the tool calls happens to the agent focused on the actual call's substance.

yeah, doing things on phone is tricky, i got something working using web, but for the phone, i think agent handoff is what is best available.

But there is something that i can recommend, there is thing that you can use, press some agent generated sequence like 3456 on the phone keypad. Livekit has support for that
once user presses those sequence, you can assume the consent, and you can save it as history too for compliances and stuff.

Yes, generally the plan is to bring Node SDK up to match Python Agent SDK. But I do not have a timeline on when that feature would become available in Node. If it is a critical feature I would suggest using the Python SDK.
