I am seeing duplicate agent turns in LiveKit cloud - is that a known bug / issue?
l
What is happening within those agent turns (drop downs)? I thought handing off between agents would appear like that. The other possibility is the agent being confused when the user turn has finished as it looks like they coincide with the user speaking
p
Not a agent handoff - it is a single agent. I am just trying out from the basic example itself to see how the tracing looks on UI - https://github.com/livekit-examples/agent-starter-python/blob/main/src/agent.py Not using any of our agent code or custom code
Also @lively-winter-88668 - qq: Is there a way to add custom trace that can appear on LiveKit cloud as a trace? For example - In langfuse OTEL setup, I can add a custom trace that would appear, but is there a way to add a custom trace that can appear on LiveKit cloud?
Hello folks, happy holidays. I wanted to check if someone has sent custom traces over to livekit cloud observability and see if it is shown in the UI. When I added a custom trace using - I am able to see it in the data that is downloaded from the LiveKit cloud UI in the
traces
file. But don't see that trace in the UI. Can someone help if they have added custom traces and see it in the UI? Adding link to livekit room and trace downloaded from UI in the thread
Added the code being used and the trace file (trace Id:
QIOnazfAbHCYa+vTH0gEPA==
is in the file but not shown in the UI) In the SS - you can see the
function_tool
span but the custom span I added
lookup_weather
is NOT rendered in the UI but is referenced in the data.
@lively-winter-88668 - apologies for tagging you, would you be able to answer the above question pls of adding custom traces in livekit cloud observability UI?

I had a look and it looks like this is not supported - under https://docs.livekit.io/deploy/observability/#observability-components it makes the distinction between insights available in LK cloud and custom data collection, 'integration with external availability tools', so no, these custom traces will not appear. If you would like to give me some feedback I can pass it along to the team?

Thanks for responding. Yes - would really like this ability to pass custom traces so that we can view directly on the LiveKit UI. OR else we will need to have langfuse in addition to livekit tracing, which would double the cost. LiveKit has done a great job on unifying audio, tracing, logging and transcript together so if we can pass any custom traces (which is already captured in data but NOT shown in the UI) and that can be displayed in the UI, it will be really helpful
l
No problem, a lot of the team are currently out for the holidays but I'll make a note and send the feedback in the new year, when it's less likely to be overlooked
