I wanted to check in regarding an issue we’re currently facing with LiveKit Web Recorder and see if anyone is aware of it or able to help us connect with the right folks. We’re seeing significant freezing in the recorded video stream, even though the sender uplink is stable (30 fps consistently). We’ve validated this using Agora Analytics, and everything looks healthy on the publisher side. The problem seems isolated to the receiver/rendering pipeline on the Web Recorder, where freeze times spike up to 2–3 seconds intermittently throughout the session. This issue is happening randomly and has started causing real churn for us, making our production setup look unstable to early users. We’re a long-term LiveKit customer and actively preparing to scale, but recording reliability is currently a blocker. Have anyone come across this kind of Web Recorder behavior before? Is this a known issue or something we should be tuning/configuring differently? Happy to share logs, timestamps, or raw media samples if needed. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. @nice-piano-9301

Hey @gray-coat-4176 thanks for reporting the problem. It would be great if you could share egressID of an affected recording so we could check logs 🙏

thanks - you have configured multiple out paths (file, HLS, stream) - are these artifacts present in all of them? if yes - are they there at the same time? How frequently does that happen?
n
also, if you have timestamps for the freezes for that egress, do share them
g
Yes, it is present in all the output paths
Also here is the stats from the agora analytics you can see that everything looks decent from the publisher side but on the receiver end it's not

From the logs - I can see a couple of RTMP connection restarts - which can't explain issues in all output types
If you have more affected recordings it would be good to share their egressID as well. Also if it's not sensitive data it would be helpful to share a media file of the recording in a DM with me (with notes on where in the stream you observe these artifacts). I can then cross compare these with logs
g
Sure I've shared the recordings in your DM
We’re facing the same issue again. This just occurred recently—please find the egress ID: EG_pmhEXM2ffF8j. Could you please check it?
