can i configure krisp on a livekit purchased number?
t
Thanks for reaching out, Marius. I'm an AI assistant and I'm here to help. Give me a moment while I research this topic.
You can — enable Krisp noise cancellation for a LiveKit purchased phone number by setting
krisp_enabled: true
in the dispatch rule for that number. LiveKit Phone Numbers apply noise cancellation via the dispatch rule (they don't require an inbound trunk), so background-noise suppression will run for inbound calls and improve audio quality for voice AI features like speech-to-text and turn detection. The noise cancellation runs locally using AI models and does not send audio to external servers. Sources: Enhanced noise cancellation | LiveKit docs | SIP inbound trunk | LiveKit docs

I don't have the option to set it in dispatch, I only have the optios in my existing sip trunlks

Thanks — I hear that your UI only shows Krisp options on SIP trunks and not on the dispatch rule for the purchased number. Let’s narrow this down so I can guide you. Could you tell me: 1. Are you using a LiveKit Phone Number that was purchased through LiveKit (not an external DID trunk)? 2. The product UI area you're looking at (Dispatch rules page URL path or screenshot of the settings panel helps). 3. Whether you manage numbers and trunks under the same project/org and if you have admin-level permissions. If you confirm the number is a LiveKit-purchased phone number and you have admin access, I’ll walk you through where the
krisp_enabled
toggle should appear and steps to enable it via the dispatch rule. If the number is routed via your external SIP trunk instead, I’ll explain the alternative (enabling Krisp on the trunk) and the exact settings to check.

so i have both, i am using a livekit phone number, purchased through livekit when developing. I have sip trunks for production. When configuring KRISP in prod i do so in the sip trunk menu. but i can not see the same feature for my developing phone number. I am using livekit cloud UI for this purpose

Thanks — I understand: you have a LiveKit‑purchased dev number (in Cloud UI) and you can enable Krisp on production via SIP trunk settings, but you don’t see the Krisp option on the dispatch rule for the dev number. Because you purchased the number through LiveKit, Krisp for inbound calls is applied on the dispatch rule (not the trunk). If you’ve confirmed the number is a LiveKit phone number and you’re in the LiveKit Cloud UI, try the following: 1. Open the Dispatch Rules page for the project that owns the phone number. 2. Select the dispatch rule associated with your dev phone number. 3. Look for the
krisp_enabled
toggle in the dispatch rule settings and enable it. If you still don’t see the toggle in the Cloud UI: • Confirm you’re signed in with an account that has admin-level access for that project (some UI controls are admin-only). • Verify you’re editing the dispatch rule actually attached to the purchased number (check the number → linked dispatch rule). • As a workaround you can enable Krisp by updating the dispatch rule via API/CLI if you have that access (set
krisp_enabled: true
on the rule). Tell me which step you tried and whether you have admin access; if the toggle is missing despite admin access and the rule being correct, share the dispatch rule name or a screenshot of the rule settings panel and I’ll walk you through the exact next steps. Would you like the API/CLI example to set
krisp_enabled
?
w
No there is no option for krisp here

Thanks — I understand you confirmed the number is LiveKit‑purchased and the Krisp toggle is missing from the Cloud UI dispatch rule. Let’s narrow this down and get you unstuck. Quick checks • Are you signed in with an admin account for the project that owns the phone number? The dispatch rule Krisp toggle is admin-level. • Open the Phone Numbers list, click the dev number, and confirm which dispatch rule is shown as attached to that number. Are you editing that exact dispatch rule? If both are correct and the toggle is still missing, you can enable Krisp on the dispatch rule via the API/CLI. Would you like the API/CLI example now—or can you paste a screenshot of the dispatch rule settings panel so I can confirm the exact fields you see?
