the can create permission bit is required for createRoom calls. it doesn't have any function when set on participant join tokens

Oh, I see. I thought it was possible to create rooms with room.connect with canCreate = true and auto_create = false. But I have to do it from backend with createRoom if I want that behaviour?

that's correct, that has never been an option.

canCreate

is a permission bit.. (i.e. this token is allowed to call CreateRoom) it doesn't automatically create the room when

auto_create

is set to false.
