For example, I see tons of the following logs:
Copy code
[2023-12-14T00:16:06Z ERROR libwebrtc] (stun_port.cc:608): UDP send of 20 bytes to host stun1.l.google.com:19302 ([2607:f8b0:4001:x:x:x:x:x]:19302) failed with error 0 : [0x00000065] Network is unreachable
As an aside, is there a configuration option that I am missing that will allow me to skip STUN during connection to the livekit server? Running on a VPN so STUN is unnecessary
Another example:
Copy code
[2023-12-14T00:16:06Z INFO  livekit::room] participant update: [ParticipantInfo { sid: "PA_8eJGSuRp59D4", identity: "cab", state: Active, tracks: [TrackInfo { sid: "TR_VCcvXvwxf94vGL", r#type: Video, name: "cab", muted: false, width: 3840, height: 960, simulcast: true, disable_dtx: true, source: Camera, layers: [VideoLayer { quality: Low, width: 720, height: 180, bitrate: 160000, ssrc: 1794598087 }, VideoLayer { quality: Medium, width: 1440, height: 360, bitrate: 450000, ssrc: 3492364211 }, VideoLayer { quality: High, width: 3840, height: 960, bitrate: 8000000, ssrc: 1288599299 }], mime_type: "video/H264", mid: "0", codecs: [SimulcastCodecInfo { mime_type: "video/H264", mid: "0", cid: "", layers: [VideoLayer { quality: Low, width: 720, height: 180, bitrate: 160000, ssrc: 1794598087 }, VideoLayer { quality: Medium, width: 1440, height: 360, bitrate: 450000, ssrc: 3492364211 }, VideoLayer { quality: High, width: 3840, height: 960, bitrate: 8000000, ssrc: 1288599299 }] }], stereo: false, disable_red: true, encryption: None, stream: "camera" }], metadata: "", joined_at: 1702512965, name: "cab", version: 6, permission: Some(ParticipantPermission { can_subscribe: true, can_publish: true, can_publish_data: true, can_publish_sources: [], hidden: false, recorder: false, can_update_metadata: false }), region: "", is_publisher: true }
Doesn't seem like the pythonic pattern of
Copy code
livekit_logger = logging.getLogger("livekit")
livekit_logger.setLevel(logging.ERROR)
has any effect
some more examples with a different format
Copy code
[OpenH264] this = 0x0x7f530c006600, Warning:[Rc] iDid = 0,iContinualSkipFrames(3) is large
[OpenH264] this = 0x0x7f530c0062b0, Warning:Actual input framerate 0.000000 is different from framerate in setting 10.000000, suggest to use other rate control modes
+ another one that happens on import:
Copy code
[2023-12-14T01:51:20Z INFO  livekit_ffi::server::requests] initializing ffi server v0.3.13

Hey Liam, thanks for the report here. We are actually working on this to make it much less verbose. All of the webrtc logs can be ignored FWIW. Two changes are incoming in the next release: 1. we'll fully utilize python logger 2. webrtc logs are only printed when DEBUG is enabled
l
Hey David, thanks for the reply. Is the next release scheduled? Also, any thoughts on skipping STUN? I would think that supplying an empty list for
RtcConfiguration.ice_servers
would get the job done
d
it should be released sometimes next week. Is there a main reason why you'd like to disable STUN?
l
Nice! I think that the main use case for me is suppressing those error logs, so not super important, but as I said I'm running the server/clients on a tailscale VPN so STUN is not necessary
d
got it! yeah the logs will be taken care of in the next release

l
Hey David, any update on the release? And jw if vp9 support is slated for this next release of the python SDK, or whether you guys have mapped that out. I saw that it was coming soon in a github issue.
d
yeah, both should be included in the next Python release. currently targeted for next week
l
Exciting, thanks David
