No, tokens are the way you access rooms. If you want, you can create an endpoint on your server that returns a token for every request
a
so for example if i want to create swipe between rooms in an app, i have to request a new token each time to view/access the room
m
That’s one way to do it, another is to set the TTL on the token to a longer period of time
a
@magnificent-art-43333 that mean a token can be used to access any room?
m
@acoustic-lighter-67336 nope, each token encodes a room name (among other information). An extended TTL (which, depending on how long you’re thinking of setting it to may present a security issue in your application) will give a user a longer window with which they can join a room. You could pre-generate tokens with longer TTLs for all the swipe-able rooms (or in batches, given that swiping probably takes some time and you can get another bunch of tokens for the next “page” of rooms while a user is going through the current set). Does that make sense?
