hi @rapid-scientist-79494, there are a couple of options to remove the black borders. 1. use CSS and
object-fit
2. add a
onResize
handler to the
VideoTrack
element and inspect
videoHeight, videoWidth
properties
we’re also looking at how to make this easier from within the SDK, but there’s currently now easier solution to get the track dimensions than 2.

1. use CSS and

It does not work because black lines seem part of the video.
element and inspect
videoHeight, videoWidth
properties
I don't see this property in the event. What is the full address?
m
@rapid-scientist-79494 I’ve never personally had to do this yet, but it seems the underlying
<video>
element encapsulated by a
VideoTrack
should have these properties.
p
you get it from the event with
event.currentTarget.videoWidth
. Generally if you publish from our client react SDKs there shouldn’t be any black lines in the video stream itself. That sounds rather unexpected.

Thank you, will try!
@polite-kilobyte-67570, It turns out that the video size passed with currentTarget.videoWidth includes dark lines too, so the most straightforward solution now is to pass the size using messages thank you!
