Hey, from my understanding, you want to use the smaller 16:9 constraint of 360p, 180p preset?
oh, sorry, h180_169 and h360_169 are already included in the presets. if you are unable to get 16:9 180p, 360p then should be native layer capture/crop issue and there is a bug in it. let me investigate
s
Yes, I'm using already included presets. When h720_169 preset is used it is clear that the video on screen is 16:9. Presets for 360p and 180p (h3600_169 and h180_169) render 4:3 video on screen. And this video is quite "cropped" compared to the actual 16:9, which is the point of most complains from our users with iOS devices.
Hi @freezing-lifeguard-43174. Don't want to bother you too much. Do you have an understanding if it can be fixed and if yes, then how much time it may take to fix? Thanks in advance

hi,I'll try to fix this issue today.

This bug seems to be exclusive to iOS, I can use 360p_169 directly on macOS
Fixed, will be included in livekit client v1.5.3. https://github.com/flutter-webrtc/flutter-webrtc/pull/1472/files

Hi @freezing-lifeguard-43174. It works. Thank you for this update. But I have one more request, if you won't mind. Can you navigate me on how to add this fix to version 0.9.32 of flutter_webrtc? I've tried adding
[videoSource adaptOutputFormatToWidth:(int)targetWidth height:(int)targetHeight  fps:(int)targetFps];
to common/darwin/Classes/FlutterRTCMediaStream.m but it didn't change anything. I'm currently using a fork of Flutter livekit client forked from 1.3.3 release with some later commits cherry picked. I'm using it instead of the official latest release because I have issues with video stability and quality when using later releases.

I think this patch also applies to flutter webrtc 0.9.32, you can fork the 0.9.32 tag and apply the patch, and use override dependencies in your project
s
Hmmm, strange. I've made a fork (as you suggested) add now it works. Previously I tried adding this change directly to the dependency file in pub cache but it didn't work for some reason. Anyway, thanks for help.
