Replying to myself with a bit more info, as this doesn't seem to be related to tabs disconnecting, but rather something else. I've just had the same thing happen again kind of reliably, and even refreshing didn't fix it - it failed to connect to livekit the first time, rolled over to a different server, got sent "update publication info", but didn't subscribe or start showing the video. Strangely, the session still shows it has having actually subscribed in the logs, and receiving data - events which didn't actually seem to happen https://cloud.livekit.io/projects/p_2cj885wmep8/sessions/RM_MxqHnCfgpYXS/participants/PA_M7GURqetRuNb
Yep, the reliable way to trigger it seems to be try to join a stream in progress, and have the initial connection to livekit fail (which happens to me maybe up to 10% of the time, intermittently). When it rolls over to the backup region, it will never subscribe to the streams. Even if the initial connection didn't subscribe to the streams, which seems to rule out my thought that I just wasn't cleaning up the subscriptions properly on disconnect. I was hoping to go live with this the week after next, so really keeping my fingers crossed this is just something programming related on my side rather than a bug! :D

Hey @full-dog-23669, that sounds quite unexpected. Something about your browser or network that seems to trigger this condition often. This experience would atypical for your end-users. With that said, if you are able to reproduce it, would you mind going over it with me live over video? I'd like to track down the root cause of it and fix it for good
