Regardless if I compile the example from scratch or use the precompiled via the TestFlight link, the chat messages sent only appear to be visible to other iOS clients.
Scenario: Livekit Cloud room with multiple participants, 2 using the iOS swift-example native apps via TestFlight, 2 participants using https://meet.livekit.io/?tab=custom. Each using different tokens. Chat messages between browsers all work as expected but not visible to iOS participants. Similarly chat messages between iOS native apps work as expected but not visible to browser participants.

Hello @incalculable-electrician-49201! Welcome. This issue is due to the Swift example not yet using the same protocol for chat that our web client (like Meet) is using. Meet currently ignores chat messages that doesn't comply to its format.. we'll need to update these across the board to comply to the same protocol

Ah. So it sounds like Meet is using the more up-to-date version of the protocol. I'd like to use the Swift example as the basis for my app. Any thoughts on where to find reference code for the latest chat protocol I can use to swap in?

the format that
meet
currently uses is a small wrapper that allows to differentiate between specific types of data messages. One of them being chat messages. In order to use the same concept for swift, the messages should have this format and use the
lk-chat-topic
when publishing data
