@curved-parrot-38582 which version of server are you using? Is your network bandwidth sufficient? Regarding resources, CPU and network i/o are the long poles. Memory wise, 16 GB should be good. You can see our benchmarks here (this is a bit old and I think the performance could be a bit lower now due to added features since that test was done) - https://docs.livekit.io/realtime/self-hosting/benchmark/

@fancy-wire-61616 Thank you for your response🙏. I'm using version 1.4.3, and the bandwidth is 1G. I have carefully reviewed the benchmarks document you provided. I'm curious about the significance of CPU clock speed for the overall performance of livekit. I recently increased the number of cores from 8 to 16, but I noticed that the performance improvement for a single room wasn't as substantial as I expected. If CPU clock speed indeed plays a crucial role, I will consider upgrading this aspect as well.

At a base level, it is packets per second throughput that is the key. Each packet takes a certain amount of processing. We have not run benchmarks using version 1.4.3. So, what you see in the docs is not using that version. So, yes, a faster CPU does mean more packets and by that means more participants/more rooms on a server. Depends on what you need to do. If you have large rooms, you would need a large server. But, if it is a lot of small rooms, you can use horizontal scalability.

I got it, thanks!
