Hey Tomos, where did you get the above example from? I'm afraid this is out of date. With the new components framework, you can do one of the following: • Create room yourself outside of
LiveKitRoom
component, and pass it in • Anywhere within
LiveKitRoom
, you could call
useRoomContext
to grab the room context

Thanks for the reply @dry-elephant-14928. I got the example from https://github.com/livekit/livekit-react, which I realise is out of date, I just wasn’t entirely sure how to achieve the same result with the new components framework. I opted for the second option, creating a custom component and nesting it as a child of my
LiveKitRoom
in order to get the room context. Thanks for your help - glad to hear it wasn’t a bad idea!
