Nicer apis to draw things, a bunch of permission changes around camera, wifi and location, quick compose demo (at -30:00 right now).

One thing I'm wondering is about the multiplatform possibilities of Compose. I wonder if it's something they already planned or are intentionally discarding. That would be sad to not support other platforms (especially given the Kotlin Everywhere initiative) as Flutter, which shares similarities with Compose already supports iOS, the web and desktop. Could you tell @romainguy?

What are the big sessions for today? I know we got @hhariri at 1230 and Compose at 1530. Anything else?

I was kind of hoping there would be more discussion about Kotlin multi platform at Google IO, think I've seen it only mentioned once so far in the Kotlin in last 2 years session. I think getting people into it would help keep the eco system into more high quality native apps and move against everything becoming react native

After watching the Compose talk I’m curious if they’ll approach the state management aspect of Compose like redux/vuex/elm. Passing callbacks down a component tree to listen for events can become burdensome fairy quickly. It’s great to see Kotlin empowering Android to move in this direction. Building UIs in Android is going to become so much more fun 😁.

Btw, do they still ignore the fact that another team in the same company is doing the same thing? Doesn't it make sense to combine the efforts with flutter and somehow blend two systems?
