dh44t: Well, what I propose is a `(T) -&gt; T` itself. Referencing it would be done by `::identity`. Creating a parameterless function just for the sake of returning another function seems superfluous.

The current implementation is actually a `() -&gt; ((T) -&gt; T)`

and indeed if you check github history, originally was a val

but JB guys change that idiom at some point

What a coincindence I made Tuple1, Tuple2, and Tuple3 aliases, made with `fun tuple`s because I just don't care enough to remember the special names XD
