    Also: 8% used == limit hit 🤔

Another UI/UX hint: Don't let people choose invalid options. If DeepSeek R1 is not capable of doing that, just leave it out of the list when "Write" was selected.

If the limit is hit, just don't let people enter anything anymore in the text field. That's confusing

Just looking where to get some more tokens to progress on my pet project, I gave "Augment" a shot. Credit Card Trials promoted as "Free" -> instant delete

I hope you don't consider going that way. I'm annoyed that they wasted my time signing up and installing their plugin.

I can't cancel the trial of the Developer package, is that right?

On reddit I read that Firebender actually came first. I guess I ignored most of it, because it was so focused on Android Studio users & Android. The three prompts worked fine on my Kotlin/WASM app in IDEA, too.

okay overall, recommend trying the free trial @Stefan Oltmann, the free tier is definitely not strong enough to do heavy testing but meant to give you an initial flavor on what Firebender can do

You are welcome. 🙏🏻 To be honest: Yeah, didn’t to the trial, because it was unclear if I can cancel before being charged. For my private work I don’t make any money, so I can’t afford to spend money. But there is an option to ask my employer if I can switch from AI Pro to Firebender for paid work, should that turn out the be the better deal. The issue with AI Pro (like you read in complaints everywhere) is that the quota is pretty quick be gone. On the other hand it just costs us 100€ per year because of JetBrains generous offerings for startups.

You call that now „free trial“, but the checkout page suggests that 2 weeks are free and the rest of the month must be paid.

yep you can cancel the trial if you don't like it, and won't be charged. but we're confident that you'll like it and value your time over what we charge

makes sense, and we can't do this atm bc we're much smaller company than JB but is something we'll keep in mind

I think the AI price is more a psychological price and they really scale with token quota. That changed a lot since the release of Junie. Some months it’s more, some less… same price.

People get a bit frustrated because JetBrains won’t tell how much quota is actually included

I would have just made your showcase app an Compose Multiplatform project in IDEA, because yet again Firebender comes across as an Android (Studio) only tool.

You say „please“ to AI - „Programmers are also human“ (YouTube) teached me to end my prompts with „do it or you go to jail“ for better results. 😬

I agree with your observations on Gemini Pro 2.5 - it’s pretty much hit or miss. I work mostly with GPT 5 now.

How often will we need to re-login into the plugin? The login seems to expire after a few days.

I'd suggest to set the expiration time to three months or so or none at all.

I see this in IntelliJ IDEA... Is there a missing shortcut? The most useful feature of AI Pro is the inline completion with Tab. Is this something similar?

My experience after one day: Code completion seems not to work - at least not as well as Junie does. But the quota is really good. I used it all day and dashboard says 16% is gone. AI Pro Quota would be empty by now. So the amount of quota justifies $30.

@Kevin Can you explain how the credit system works? Yesterday it said $19.67/$120.00 , now it's $19.67/$30.00 The docs don't explain that to me.

Inline edits seem to be not useful at all if they don't implement a standalone-function. As soon as they call outside functions, which seem not to be in the context window, it's pure hallucination. For example Firebender is unable to use copy() of data classes. The models just make parameters up.
