i know right

i jumped into this channel and was like "oh" lol, i remember that moment

maybe it's time for a revival

anyway i would like to propose a revival lol

i am looking for local Kotlin collaborators who are interested in working on a new web framework / library

it is pure Kotlin, multi-platform, full-stack, and inspired by patterns from Next.js / remix

with a particular focus on integration with Micronaut and Google Cloud, although other modules could be added

is this interesting to anyone? Lol

most notable thing so far: it can do react SSR, natively, in kotlin

what if i could tell you that you could run your React SSR app on pure Kotlin? Or execute it in GraalVM seamlessly? i'd like to introduce you guys to Elide -- a very early framework for GraalVM, Kotlin, and full-stack polyglot programming https://github.com/elide-dev/v3

if anybody is interested in working on it, trying it out, tearing it apart with evil criticism, etc., please ping me or reply 🙂 it's already powered millions of req's per quarter, thanks to Micronaut and GraalVM. it's just mostly tying together tools and the best of the KotlinX ecosystem into one package and Gradle plugin toolchain.

SSR React sample with Elide

finally, it's also extremely fast, at 33k RPS on a single VM thread it's already beating Node, Deno, and nearly Bun for React SSR. furthermore, latency is consistently extremely low in native image mode, making for a very fast dev lifecycle and app experience.

(for the Googlers in the room, i will be adding first-class Bazel support soon as well!!)
