Hey <@U0B4VBHGXSQ>! You aren't wrong in your count...

Hey @mobiledev! You aren't wrong in your counting at all. Machine Identities generally operate under a separate quota allocation and shouldn't eat into your human user seat limits. What you’re experiencing is likely a known stale seat state. When you delete organization members, Infisical sometimes keeps those seats marked as 'occupied' in the subscription cache if there are pending invitations still floating around, or if the billing sync hasn't flushed the deleted user records from the active org count yet. Check your Org Settings -> Members dashboard and ensure there aren't any old, unaccepted invitations sitting in the 'Pending' tab taking up those slots. If that area is completely empty and you're still locked out, it's an internal sync bug on the backend plan validator and someone from the core Infisical team will need to manually flush your org's seat cache!

Thank you for the answer! Because i couldn't find 'Members' under 'Organisation Settings', I assume that it's moved to another place 'Access Control'. I've checked here and there don't seem to be any old or pending users.

Ah, you're completely rightth ey did consolidate that into the Access Control tab recently! If both your active and pending lists are completely clear and you're still getting the 'maximum number of members' block, then it's definitely a stale subscription sync bug on the backend validator. The system is still caching the old member count even though those rows were deleted from your organization. Since there's no manual 'force flush' button in the UI for plan usage, someone from the core Infisical team will need to take a quick look at your organization ID and manually sync your active seat count. Let's hang tight until a maintainer hops into the channel to clear that cache block for you!

Hey @mobiledev! I went ahead and dug into the core Infisical repository to track down this behavior. You were 100% correct. There was a mismatch where soft-deactivating a user via the UI (
PATCH
) sets their database state to
isActive = false
, but the internal license tracking service in
license-dal.ts
was still counting those raw rows toward your free-tier limit without checking the active flag. I've engineered the patch to filter out inactive users from the active seat pool calculations and just opened a Pull Request for it on the main repo. Once the maintainers review and merge it, this false-positive ceiling block will be permanently resolved for your organization! Here is the live fix: https://github.com/Infisical/infisical/pull/6522

Thank you for your effort @samad! I've tried now to add a new member, and I managed to do it successfully! I think maybe after a while the list cleared/synced
