I’m experimenting with Rust web dev using Axum + minijinja for templating. One fairly off-putting aspect is that the encoding of objects for use in templates requires code from our side, whereas templating engines in dynamic languages like Python or JS (or in languages with builtin serde like Go) make things more convenient by incorporating more in the templating libraries (which can leverage introspection / reflection etc). At least that’s my experience so far with minijinja. Any other feedback on the experience with Rust + templates? Anyway, HOWL definitely applies to Rust as well. The web server / application framework story is well covered now it seems, with Actix, Axum, Warp, etc. Personally chose Axum because i like the modular mindset, Actix looks very solid too.
